Lena passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, January 7. 2012, at the Vita Hospital, at the age of 85. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Larry (Kim), Lorraine (Ray), Jim (Mary), Raymond, Audrey (Dillon); grandchildren: Rhonda, Kyle, Christopher, Janine, Courtney, Justin, Keanan, Jayden; her faithful guard dog Chester; sisters Mary, Cassie, Jenny, Nellie, Orise, Elizabeth, Alice, and numerous relatives. She was predeceased by her parents Nykfor and Sophie Kucharski, her loving husband Stanley, son Stanley Jr., sisters Anna, Polly, Ellen, and brothers Johnny, Martin, Alex, and Joe. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, MB, with ash interment at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Vita Hospital for the loving care they gave our mother. Thank you also to Chaplain Joy Andrusiak for the prayers with Mom and family. Pall bearers are her grandsons: Kyle Okapiec, Christopher Okapiec, Justin Stepanenko, Keanan Okapiec, and Jayden Okapiec.
