It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our husband, father, son and brother. Harvey passed away January 12, 2012 after a lengthy battle with MS and heart disease. Harvey is survived by his loving family: wife Phyllis, son Ash (Jerica), his parents, Jacob and Mary Wiebe, one brother, Henry (Helen), three sisters, Anne (John Funk), Helen (Dave Wiebe), Evelyn (Bill Krahn). Harvey was the fourth child born to Jacob and Mary Wiebe on May 29, 1953. He grew up in a farming community. Some of his “toys” were motorcycles, snowmobiles, four wheelers, and guns. He married Phyllis Falk on May 29, 1976. They were so blessed when they received their son, Ashley, in July of 1984. Upon confession of his faith, Harvey was baptized at the Stony Brook Fellowship. During Harvey’s lifetime, he had numerous jobs including: carpet laying, farming, bus driver, truck driver, and service manager for two dealerships in Steinbach. In 1995 Harvey was diagnosed with MS. Although he tried to keep going, his condition slowly deteriorated. The hardest thing Harvey ever had to do was quit work almost nine years ago. His hobbies included fishing, reading, traveling, and going to the coffee shop twice daily. Harvey was known for his sense of humour, optimistic attitude, and gift of the gab. Seven years ago, Harvey suffered his first heart attack and now had his final heart attack on Thursday evening, January 12, 2012 We will miss him, but we know that Harvey has finally been healed and is now running in the streets of Heaven. Viewing will be held at The Grunthal Bergthaler church on Monday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grunthal Bergthaler Church with interment at the Grunthal Cemetery.
