It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Istvan (Steve) Faskerti Sr. on February 24, 2007 at Vita Hospital at 76 years of age. Steve was born April 14, 1930, in Slovakia to John and Paula Faskerti. Steve and Emma immigrated to Canada in 1957. Steve is survived by Emma, his wife of 52 years, two brothers and one sister in Hungary. He will also be lovingly remembered by his family: Steve (Grace), Bill (Edith), Emma (James), Leslie (Michelle); his grandchildren Jamie, Edward (Pamela), Christine (Donald), Tracy (Clayton), Lindsay (Mark), Brent, Mark, Breanna, Stephanie; great-grandchildren Sebastien, Aiden, Kari and Kylie; as well as by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in South Junction, MB on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment at the Sprague Community Cemetery. Reception to follow at Sprague Community Hall.
