Born June 21st, 1941, in Vita, Manitoba, Jean Levenec (Nee Bugera) passed away in the early hours of Monday, October 7th, with her husband John by her side. Jean grew up in Sundown but needed to see the world, and joined the Canadian Air Force, spending her service years in the Maritimes. Upon her return home, she met and married John and this time, they headed to the West Coast to spend their early years in Vancouver. They along with their daughter, Lori-Ann, moved back home, where Jean continued in her career as an Accounting Tech in Winnipeg, until she and John retired to Sundown, going full circle. Jean was predeceased by many but her loss will be felt by her husband of 49 years, John, their daughter Lori-Ann and her partner Philip Bugera, her grandsons Willem and Ewen Hergesheimer, her sisters Mary & Walter Woroniuk and Elsie Bugera, brother-in-law Mike and Dorothy Levenec, sister-in-law Val Levenec along with numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, Manitoba, Thursday, October 10 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery, Sirko, Manitoba.
