It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Stan on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at St. Boniface Hospital. Stan was born on February 12, 1959 in Steinbach and is survived and deeply missed by his two daughters Brittney (Trevor), Adriane (Dan); his sister Elsie (George); his partner Diane and her children Adam, Jason, Amanda (Justin) as well as his nieces Cathy and Jennifer (Jayden and Evan). Stan was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Anne Kraynyk. He spent the first three years of his life on the farm in Arbakka and then moved to Vita which remained his home. Stan worked for the Province of Manitoba Department of Infrastructure and Transportation all of his life and enjoyed hunting, quadding, snowmobiling, working on machines and curling. He was well known in the community for volunteering on the Vita Fire Department, owning and operating his backhoe service and serving one term on the Stuartburn Municipality Council. He also devoted much of his time to various committees. One of his favorite past times was meeting the boys for daily coffee but above all family and friends meant the most to Stan. The bond between a father and his daughters could be no greater than what he shared with his girls. His family was extended the last part of his life and was completely fulfilled with his partner Diane and her children. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and paramedics at the Vita Hospital and the staff in ICU at the St Boniface Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 – 310 Broadway; Wpg., MB R3C 0S6
