Peacefully, with his loving family at his side, Clarence Funk from Mitchell passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Bethesda Hospital. He was born on April 21, 1945 in Steinbach. Left to cherish Clarence’s memory is his beloved wife Eva, of 44 years; son Bradley (Kimberley); daughters Janette (Duane) and Candace (Badi); and grandsons Dakota, Teighan and Hunter. He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius and Anna Funk; his sister Elsie Kehler; and his granddaughter Hope Koop. The Viewing will be held Thursday, March 15 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral will be on Friday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinbach Chortitzer Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover, Steinbach with interment at the Mitchell CMC Cemetery. The family is at peace, knowing that Clarence is resting in the arms of his Lord Jesus Christ. He is celebrating in Heaven with family and friends who pre-deceased him. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Karen Toews, the nurses, health care aides and staff at Bethesda Hospital who gave that little extra to make Clarence more comfortable and ensured his final days were as painless and peaceful as possible.
