Mary Pauls of Steinbach passed away peacefully at Bethesda Hospital on April 4th, 2012. She is survived by her sons Wayne (Sandee), Ken (Sandi), Lorne, Craig (Vi), and Troy (Jan), sisters Helen Keryluk (Walter), Betty Sandford (John), Ella Ferris (Orville), eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Abraham and Margaret Funk of Morden. Mother was born in Morden, studied Art in Winnipeg, raised a family in Winkler, and had a career in Steinbach as Activities Director at the Bethesda PCH until her retirement. She was a well-known local artist, and took great pride in the many paintings and murals she created. Mary was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Steinbach Legion. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 11th at 10:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel at 150 Penfeld Drive in Steinbach, with ash interment to follow at Morden Southside Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of Canadian Legion, Steinbach Branch.
