It was by God's divine direction that I met Edwin and Mary some years ago in the cafeteria at Bethesda Hospital. They overheard a conversation I was having with another friend and when I shared that my parents pastored in Wynyard, SK they leaned over and shared that they too were there and that was the start of a wonderful friendship. My visits with Edwin were always so encouraging as he emulated the example of patiently waiting on God. It wasn't always easy but he never waivered in trusting his Lord and Saviour and that spoke volumes to me. He was always concerned with how I was doing as well as my family. I will miss my friends, both Mr. & Mrs. Klippenstein but I am very grateful for the years we had to get to know one another better and talk about God's goodness and faithfulness. Blessings to you his family as you adjust to life with out your parents. They talked often about you and loved you dearly.

Edwin was my pastor when I was a rebellious teenager and I remember how it bothered me that Edwin always was telling people to get saved. I often tried to dodge him when he greeted us by the stairs after the service. But it wasn’t easy. After I became a Christian I loved greeting him. Later on I became the pastor of Gospel Fellowship for a few years and Edwin and Mary were members of the church. He used to joke that our role had switched. I remember distinctly Edwin visiting our family and before he left he prayed that someone from our family would enter the ministry. My sister and I both entered full time ministry. Thanks Edwin for your faithfulness in your ministry. And Mary too! She was an amazing host. Thanks. Allan Dueck

I have many wonderful memories of Edwin and his family. He was my first childhood Pastor, and a loving and caring neighbour to our family. Edwin introduced me to God as a child and made sure I had rides to church regularly. He also was instrumental in bringing parents to the Lord. One evening while playing games downstairs at the Klippenstein home I remember Edwin coming out of his office to show me how to “properly shuffle” a deck of cards. I remember running home afterwards to show my parents my new learned talent......They wondered how a pastor knew how to shuffle cards so well.....Well I’m sure he’s sharing his secret with them now.....as for me, well I’ll have to wait to find out.
Hugs To the family. May the peace and comfort of God surround you now In the weeks ahead.

We are so sorry for the difficult days you have faced in the last couple of weeks in losing both your parents. We really appreciate the sharing you did as a family to give us a glimpse of your memories. What a wonderful legacy they left for you as well as others. Your dad was the one who officiated at our wedding and was our pastor for many years. We have great memories of that time. If we were to sum up your dad's life, we would use the apostle Paul's words in 2 Timothy 1:8 "So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord" and 2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight...and I have remained faithful." We hope the memories of your parents will encourage you in the days ahead. Our condolences to Murray, Fran and Allan and your families.

Thank you so much for airing this service and allowing us the privilege to share this moment together with you!
We so much appreciate the great legacy that your father and grandfather left behind! Praise be to God!
We had the privilege of having him as our pastor until 1969, when we moved to Ontario to assist in the work with a new
church there.
Blessings to all of you!
Our prayer for each of you is that our God comfort you and guide you in the days ahead.
With lots of love and many cherished memories together with Edwin, Mary, Murray, Sharron, Fran and Al.

I so appreciated Edwin as a brother in the Lord; as a Pastor, and as a fellow board member with 'The Gospel Message' under the leadership of John D Friesen back then. He was a man of character, a man of integrity, a man who loved God, and certainly proclaimed the Truth. I will see you again, Edwin!

Both Edwin and Mary were so down to earth and real in their faith. Their faith was real and consistent in daily life. And they were always ready to go the extra mile for the sake of the Gospel. Even as seniors themselves they thought of ways that they could still reach out. Edwin for many years droves the van for the resthaven and Mary joined in the singing groups that went there.

Thank you for live-streaming the funeral, it was very nice to be able to "attend". We appreciate each tribute given by Mr. Klippenstein's children and grandchildren. He was our pastor in 1985/86 when we were newlyweds and starting our family. We remember him with great fondness.

Edwin Klippenstein married us on April 17th, 1965. We chose him for the great respect we had for him and because we liked him a lot. Our biggest memory was from him being on the radio on CFAM.
Edwin and Mary came to visit us several times afterwards, checking that things were going well. I remember after our 25th anniversary they came and had a great visit. Edwin worked very hard at asking questions about our lives, well aware that, like most people, we love to talk about ourselves. They were such a great couple for us, even though we did not get together often.
With so much love,
Abe & Betty Peters.

Lovely service and tribute to Mr Klippenstein. I watched it via live stream. He was a very Godly man and left a wonderful legacy in his family. I was best friends with his daughter Sharon when they lived in Steinbach. Unfortunately she passed away several years ago. So great to see her children Alison & Sean all grown up and living for the Lord. Sharon would be so proud of you! Great to see Murray, Fran & Allan too. My condolences to all of you. It’s been a tough month for you, losing both your parents. I’ll keep you close in prayer.

Ed Klippenstein was the pastor of our home church in Steinbach and was always concerned about our Salvation and loved to preach a simple and true message based on the Bible. Those were the good old days when after Church, they would visit and socialize with families in the congregation. We enjoyed many visits at their home or at our farm in Kleefeld. Condolences to Fran, Murray and Allan and their families. Alvina & Don Ansley

Edwin and Mary were such encouragers, all the time I knew them. Though we seldom met (I live on the other side of the globe) I could always sense their genuine concern for my (& my family's) welfare whenever we met. I was prayed for every Wednesday (Edwin told me that back in the 80's). They were a couple that truly lived what they believed, and they made an impact on my life. My condolences to the family. Personal note to Murray - Thank you for introducing them to me back in the day... Praying you will experience God's peace during this time of grieving.

The Klippensteins pastored us when our family lived in Dominion City; I can still clearly remember the Farewell Service they & the church held for us. It was during this time that I sang in public for the 1st time - with the other kids from church; it was so much fun, a real thrill to practice @ Klippensteins, then sing in church on Sunday! I am SO glad I was able to attend some of their anniversary celebrations. They were such a lovely family, a real Christian example for ours. I grieve for the children having their parents/ grand-
parents pass away only weeks from each other but it is a relief for the parents - at least my parents died within 6 months of each other. May comfort & keep you all! II Cor.4. Love & prayers, Kathy Janice (Knutson) Harris, kathyjaniceharris@gmail.com. My husband of 43 1/2 years passed away on Jan. 13th so I know what grief is like. God bless.

Pastor Edwin was a wonderful man. It was my privilege to first become acquainted with him when he was Pastoring in Austin and me in MacGregor. His love for God and His people were always obvious. He always treated me well and was a great encouragement. I'm so glad he was able to transfer his church membership to the Church Triumphant in Heaven!

Edwin will be missed by those of us who had the privilege of caring for him over the last few years. He had a deep and unshakable faith that never seemed to waiver. As long as he was able, he reached out to us with caring and prayers on our behalf. He never stopped being a pastor. He shared the name of my own father (yes, also Edwin Klippenstein) whom I lost a few years ago, so that was also a special connection. These two Edwins always knew about each other, met and visited on a couple of occasions, but weren't connected by family etc. as far as we know. You as a family have been through so much in the last couple of years, and indeed in the last few weeks. May you feel His arms around you, may you trust that the Good Shepherd is holding you, giving you strength to meet each day forward, and fill you with His peace as you grieve your losses.
