Dear Aunty, Greg and Chelsey. I am so sad for your loss. Uncle was a great gentle man. It has been many years since I moved far from family, but I have many wonderful memories of Uncle Roman. From family gatherings in Dauphin ( I even remember your wedding) and all the other gatherings in The Pas. This was a beautiful service today. Much love to you all.

We are truly saddened to hear of Romans passing. He was not only a great supervisor, but a great friend. I will always cherish the time I had with Roman, sitting in his garage and shooting the breeze.
Deepest condolences to Audrey, Chelsea and Greg.

My deepest sympathy to all of Ronan’s family. I’m so sorry for another loss to this wonderful family. I met Roman during a sad time. I got to know him when we sat vigil by his sister’s side during her palliative stage. He was gentle and kind. I will never forget how he made me feel or be part of Nancy’s planning. I suggested a local funeral home and without hesitating he said “if that’s where Jennifer says Nancy should go that’s where she will go”. He made me feel a part of the family. And he had a twinkle in his eye. And he loved Audrey so much, you could just tell by the way they connected. And the siblings. I’m so sorry, especially for my Theresa. I love you and I’m sorry you have to suffer more sadness. I will remember Roman as a gentle being. RIP. Say hi to my Nancy up there.

So sorry on the passing of John. I had only known him a short time as his friend in the hospital across the isle. I got to know John as a man who knew God and was prepared to meet him in glory.

I met Roman during a difficult time. His sister Nancy was palliative and we spent many hours around her bedside. Roman was so kind and gentle and then when she passed and we were figuring out arrangements, I suggested a local funeral home and right away he said “ if that’s where Jennifer chooses we go with that”. He made me fill like part of the family. As all families, especially siblings, have their disagreements they always rallied together for the important stuff, the family stuff. I will miss that twinkle in his eye and his quiet and gentle presence. Sympathies to all the family. Audrey you are in my thoughts. And Theresa, well I just love you and wish I could erase some of this sadness. May he Rest In Peace. Cherish your memories as I will cherish mine of a big brother sitting vigil around his sister’s Hospital bed. Love to all.

The heartache and heart break is so very difficult. You knew Roman as a husband and father and what an amazing man he was in those two roles. I knew Roman as my older brother the leader of us his siblings. No one could have done the job better, he taught me so many things about life and love. He led our family through his generosity, compassion, knowledge, kindness, hospitality, protectiveness and so much more, but what he taught us about most importantly was love.
Les and I will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. Remember the love he had for each of you.
Our love - Les Highfield & Theresa (Batiuk) Highfield
