Uncle Vic you will truly be missed by many but I so understand that you wanted to just be home with the Lord, your time on this earth done. I have precious memories of your family coming to Chase, finally we had family living in the same town! That was such a gift to me because I missed our Manitoba family so much when we moved to B.C. And then I was again privileged to live in Steinbach with you close by...I loved popping in to visit with you and Aunt Wendy. You both helped us with getting our new house ready for us to move in. So many memories but mostly I remember how hospitable you were always welcoming me. Today as I watched your life celebration I was awed by the impact you had on your children and grandchildren. You left a legacy that will live on in them. I love you Uncle Vic...may you find sweet rest in the arms of Jesus, your Saviour.

Vic or as I would have called him "Grandpa Vic" was a very special man in my life. I got to meet him for the first time when I was just young and attending Awana at the EEFC Church. He would always greet me with a big smile and a hug and was attentive and caring. After growing very fond of Grandpa Vic and who I now call Grandma Wendy we stayed connected even after I ended my studies. Through my adult years I always loved coming to visit, with Wendy and Vic. They always showed so much care and compassion with me which i cherished so much. Getting to know them and their wonderful family through the years has been a blessing and they both have made a huge impact on my life. My best memory though was when I went to visit them in 2015 right after Grandpa Vic's 80th birthday. He gave me a his Super Grandpa pin that he wore every time he would listen to the young kids recite their bible verses and I have kept it close to me through these last few years. I will always remember Grandpa Vic as one of the most kind, fun loving and wonderful people I've ever met. He will be greatly missed.
Love You Grandpa Vic - Madison

Thank you so much Madison for sharing your thoughts, feelings and memories. It touched my heart hearing the impact my dad had on someone’s life in such a powerful way. Dad spoke many times of you with a twinkle in his eye and loved you like his own child.
Love from Gwen,
Grandpa Vic’s oldest daughter
