Reg Sproule was my bus driver all the way from Grade 2-12. There is no way to express how big of an impact he made on my siblings and me throughout our childhood... he was caring, funny and personable and always made us feel special in some way. We still talk about him and the goodness that he brought to our lives. We even had a song that we made up about him that we would sing every morning on the walk to the bus..."Reg Sproule take me to school! Reg Sproule, you're so cool!" Now, as an adult reading his obituary, I am amazed to realize that there was so much more to him than I imagined as a kid. He flew an Cessna!? Wild. I remember years ago when Jean died, my siblings and I sent a card to him (Jean was our bus driver for soccer tournaments) and hoping that Reg got it and knew we were thinking of him. So the same goes for his family now - please know that we are thinking of you and that your parents made a significant impact in the lives of a bunch of kids from Kokomo Road.

Jean and Reg were co-worker bus drivers and I considered them my friends. They were always friendly, and always kind . We are sad for the family. They’ve lost both parents within a short while . We are truly never old enough to lose our parents. We will miss running into Reg when running errands in town . He will also be missed at bus driver breakfast. He also provided hay for our friends . There is a huge emptyness left here on this earth without Jean and Reg . But heaven has gained 2 more angels , and I believe we will meet again. We were sorry to miss the funeral , but were praying for the family. We are so sorry for your loss . May God give you peace and comfort in your time of grief . God Bless and keep you ❤️ Susan and Andy Unrau

The first airplane ride I ever remember is with uncle Reg. The whole family went uncle Reg, auntie Jeanne, Dean, Darcy and Julie and myself. Not sure if Twilla was there and for sure not Jamie. It was very thrilling and terrifying all in one memory. Uncle Reg was always kind and gentle spoken to me. I will miss you. My heart felt condolence to your children and grand children. You will be missed.

On behalf of the Graham Family (Margaret, Arnold, Agnes, Jim, Larry & myself, Flora), sincere condolences to the Sproule Family on the sudden passing of Reg. Our family lived 6 miles east of Giroux in the Lorraine School District and have many memories of visiting with the Sproule Family. Over the years, it has always been a pleasure to meet Reg at various places (auction sales, Chicken Chef, Lorette, Petro Canada, etc.) and chat with Reg.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Reg. I am grateful that 15 years ago we met Reg, he was our daughters bus driver. Our friendship began and we realized our families knew one another - small world. Reg had the kindest heart and such a gentle way of living life. We would text each other and on occasion go out for coffee. His advice was always welcomed and we never ran out of things to talk about. When our daughter graduated in 2018, I got a text message congratulating her and her mom on the "BIG" day. He said he was thinking of all the special memories ( I know he was referring to her first day of kindergarten and the picture of her and Jean on the school bus. Jean was the afternoon bus driver) He made my day with that text. A few weeks ago, Reg stopped in our shop and I got a big hug from him and we talked briefly. I am grateful for that hug and seeing his smile. Sometimes in life we are fortunate to meet such wonderful people and share a deep connection.
My family and I will forever hold these memories of your Dad deep in our hearts and he will be fondly talked about.
Hugs and prayers to all of you.
Love Shannon, Steve, MacKenna and Madisyn Hildebrand

Reg was our first little league baseball coach and we appreciated his leadership very much. Reg was good at hitting the long ball and with his smooth swing dinged quite a few.

To the Sproule family , you are in our thoughts and prayers. Reg was a man that impacted others in a profound way. He was authentic in his relationships. Even if you met up on occasion the exchange was always real and reached deep, despite his calm and gentle character . Reg was an ball umpire and that is where is developed a relationship with him. I pitched for a number of year and always appreciated when he would umpire the home plate. I thought I got the occasional " favor " if the call was close ! He was great to have as an ump over the years. What a loss for you especially as a family but also for the many people he rubbed shoulders with Trav Bergman

We have great respect for Reg.
Our first memory of him was when he was an enthusiastic bat boy for our old Giroux ball club. We renewed contact during the planning for the Giroux School Reunion in 2014. When we approached him for a site for the Giroux School cairn on the headlands of the old school yard without hesitation he said he had the perfect site and he did.
We extend our deepest condolences to all the family.

Reg's kind and gentle spirit will be sadly missed. His friendship and support to everyone who knew him was so wonderful. He took care of our son Tim when he had a serious injury in hockey as if he was his own son. We loved Reg for who he was and the example he left for all of us on how to be good friend and neighbor. We will miss him.
Love, Nelson and Dianne Fry and family

Our heartfelt condolences to the family. Your dad will be remembered & missed by many.
Reg’s bus route was the first run I did as a spare driver. He had corn to harvest and, kind of last minute, decided he needed a spare for his afternoon run. There was no chance for a ride along so when I expressed my apprehension he said, “It’s an easy run. You can do it”, followed by his customary giggle. I managed to get it done and after that I spared for him & your mom often. They were both special people and made the world a better place!
