Our deepest sympathies to Melvin and Family, John & I rented their house in Blumenort about 50 years ago and learned to appreciated them as they were very nice people to rent from. Over the years we would see them and chat with them - It has been a privilege to know Eva. Psalm 116:15 Love & Prayers, Helen & John Schellenberg

I have known Eva and her Husband Melvin my whole life. They were a blessing to the Blumenort Church. Eva always had a desire to share the love of Jesus with others. She was strong in her faith and you were always welcome in their home.

I got to know Mrs. Penner (when I began teaching) as both the wife to Melvin and as the mom of Jocelyn. Even many years later, if I met her and Melvin while out shopping or something, they expressed interest in how I was doing and how the students were doing. They stopped to visit, if only briefly.
My condolences to the entire family.

I am so sorry that your family has to once again deal with a loss of another family member and walk another journey thru grief. Special sympathies go out to Mr. Penner. I always appreciated Mrs. Penner’s “cute smile” at church. In 1996 she and Mr. Penner were my first visitors in my hospital room when I gave birth to our first child/son. I was so thrilled that they took the time to come see my new baby and then 2 weeks later she phoned me to see how I was doing! Much love and prayers for you Mr. Penner and the family. Its always hard to lose a mother
and even more difficult in these circumstances.

We wish we could have thanked Eva once more for her hospitality and her wonderful encouraging smile. We are praying for you, Melvin and family during this difficult time of grieving the loss of your wife and Mom. It is hard to imagine that we will not see Eva on this side of Heaven. You have experienced grief upon grief in the last while which is hard to understand. In times like this we do not have words to say for the deep losses you are facing. We are crying out to our Lord that He will comfort all of you. Ed and Wilma Johnson
