I am remembering my beloved Uncle Leonard today. He indeed was a kind and humble man. He always worked hard and provided a good life for his family. He had keen instinctual intelligence in fixing and repairing anything that needed it. I remember a day when visiting him. We loved to play Canasta together as a family. I was living in Minneapolis. I had my car packed ready for the road trip back home and checked my back seat one last time before leaving. There I found a set of beautiful hand crafted wood work of a set of wooden Canasta card holders he had made for me. They were perfectly carved and varnished. He had tucked them under a blanket so to surprise me when I arrived home. How thoughtful! I was able to run back and give him a big hug and offer my gratitude for a precious gift I will always treasure. During that visit I had walked through the garden to pick up some vegetables to take with me and my shoes were caked with mud. He noticed this and quickly offered .......I should take off my shoes and he would clean them for me. He went out to get the garden hose and got down on bended knee cleaning my shoes...... bringing them back to the sparking white they had originally been. He was indeed a kind and loving man. He never spoke badly of anyone even when he had been wronged. I love you Uncle Leonard and know you are travelling on to a better place! Love is immortal!
