During the 6 years I was blessed to work at Steinbach Feeds I was lucky to have known Elvin. He was one of the men there I looked up to. One of the kindest of persons I’ve ever met. My heart , thoughts and prayers go out to you Anne!

Elvin was the only brother out of 4 that was still alive. He was my oldest brother and as a young teenager he really took me under hies wing. I went to the black hills on vacation with his little family which was only Virginia and Anne at that time. It was an adventure to put it mildly from putting up our tent on a railroad track to using Virginia’s diaper to keep the water pump in the car cool. He just took it all in stride and it was interesting for me. He loved me and would have liked to protect me from myself but as he found out later kids have to make their own mistakes. I miss him already and always will.

My deepest sympathies to you Anne for your loss. May the Lord bless you with peace and comfort during this time. I am truly saddened by the loss of Elvin.
He was a very gentle and noble soul. I was very blessed to have been able to work with Elvin prior to his retirement, and always enjoyed visiting with him whenever he got a chance to stop by the office for a coffee. I will miss him.

I mourn with you for the loss of your husband Alvin. We had many good times together and my children have fond memories of their uncle.
Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
May the precious memories comfort you in the days ahead.
Love and prayers

I want to extend my sympathies to Mrs. Reimer and Family. I learned to know Elvin through the poultry business and had many dealings with him over the years. He was always a gentleman and had a genuine concern for people. Sometimes you came along for the ride, too, Anne, and our conversations over tea and cookies were always pleasant. May you find comfort in cherished memories.

I was another one of those teens, I worked for him for a summer when I was 16. He was a wonderful boss and a good person to talk to. Over the many years that have passed since then, we often met “by accident”, in stores, at funerals, all over, and always had a great (and sometimes lengthy) conversation. He will be missed.

My first job was working at the Hatchery for Alvin picking eggs way back in 1972. He taught me work ethic and have always appreciated his leadership thru his actions.
