Obituary of Horst Joeachim Brunner
Horst Joeachim Brunner, known to friends and family as “Joe”, passed away suddenly at the age of 81 on December 31, 2020.
Joe was born in Krefeld, Germany. He came to Canada at age 20 and worked at what he loved most: mechanics, real estate, and charitable work (he was proudly involved for many years with Habitat for Humanity). He never sat still; always enjoyed being busy, busy, busy!
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Mary, his three daughters Stephanie (Don), Vandy (Mario), and Christina (Marshall), grandchildren Ashley (Edgar), Melissa (Max), and Caitlin (Thomas), and five great-grandchildren Aiden, Maggie, Edison, Braelynn and Cadence.
Joe also leaves behind stepchildren Bryan, Jacqueline (Maurice), and Sharese, and four step-grandchildren Damon, Brady, Hailey and Katie.
Joe will also be forever remembered by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Joe was predeceased by parents, siblings, and wife Maggie.
Cremation has taken place, and at his request, there will be no funeral service.

We would like to thank the various doctors and nursing staff who took care of Joe for many years. We would also like to thank the staff at the Steinbach Hospital for their compassionate care of Joe on his last days of life.
We love you, Joe/dad, and will forever miss you.
