Today, as I was thinking of my late father, Henry U Dueck, I thought of his friends he used to speak so fondly of. A name that frequently came up was Emil Reimer and a search of the name brought me to this site. Today, they can ride around heaven in their $5.00 Model T, bought from the proceeds of those threshing gangs. Though we have never met, I know, based on my fathers friend selection, that your family is richly blessed to have had Emil for father. May God go with you.

What a beautiful celebration of life! Thank you for sharing Uncle Emil's tributes with all of us who couldn't be there.
My memory is about looking forward to a visit from your family. My Mom was thinking about what to make for supper. I suggested turkey because we only had that meal about 3 times a year. She said - no - these people see turkeys every day!
Thank you, Sandy, for the Peters' Reunion pictures. It reminds us of happier days with family, sharing more stories and memories. Uncle Emil, the gentle giant, a life well lived...and well loved.

I will remember Uncle Emil as a warm, generous man, who always had a smile on his face. When we used to visit the farm, he would take time out of his busy day for 'company'...whether it was popping into the house to say hello, or showing us around the turkey barns. When I drove Mom & Dad to Steinbach for his and Aunt Tina's 50th wedding anniversary, he made us feel so welcome...even though we were just 3 of many family & friends who had gathered. He paid for the hotel room, and wouldn't hear of Dad settling up. We visited their home, too...and were all amazed at the ingenious train track, which could appear or disappear as required. What other Grandpa could compete with that! Mom enjoyed the variety of stamps from his collection, that would turn up on cards & letters. Condolences to Aunt Tina and all the family - know he will be dearly missed.

Dear Aunt Tina and Cousins;
So sorry to hear the news but realize the difficult struggles for Uncle Emil and the family over these past number of months.
I will remember him as always having a smile, his calm voice and taking a genuine interest in everyone. We are all grateful for his research on the Peters family history. I hope we can visit again before long.
