Obituary of Randy Reimer

Suddenly on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 our brother Randy was called home. Randy passed away in Grande Prairie, Alberta at the age of 51.

Randy was born on August 7, 1969 to Annie and Peter Reimer in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Randy is survived by one brother Michael and one sister Tracey, Cody & Denver (Nevada).

Randy was predeceased by his parents Anne Reimer & Peter Reimer, two grandfathers: Jacob Peters and John Reimer; and one grossmama Helena Peters.

Randy attended school finishing half of grade 10 at Green Valley School in Grunthal, Manitoba. The last day of school Randy rode his horse into the school and down the hallways. We grew up in Grunthal, Manitoba, where our parents had a small farm, Randy developed a passion for horses early on in life. We had many horses growing up and Randy loved them all. Randy & Michael and some of their cousins were passionate about 4-h. They would pick a steer with their Grandpa and then it would mean hours and hours of training. It was something Randy could do with his dad and grandpa and he loved every minute of it.

Randy moved to Alberta at an early age. He moved to Edson, Alberta with mom’s cousin Tien and her husband Gary Young. He began working at T-Car Water Well drilling with them and they developed a strong bond. Randy learned many things working with Gary and he really loved their time together. Randy fell in love with Alberta and made Alberta his home. He came back to visit Manitoba, but Alberta was where he called home. Randy always loved moms cooking and looked forward to those meals on his trips home. Randy sponsored a wagon All Pro Chuckwagon and Chariot Association in 2017 and 2018. They became family to Randy and he spent a lot of time with them. He was very loved. Randy was a very hard worker, he never complained about having to work those long hours. While Randy was in Manitoba, he worked at the Peter Froese farm milking cows, if Randy could work among animals, he was in his happy place. He spent some time working with his Uncle Johnny doing taping, but his real passion was driving. He hauled cattle for a number of years and then switched to a life of driving truck on the oil patch. Randy found a home at a Top Shelf Transport where he worked currently till he took his last ride. Truck 112 took its last ride with Randy behind the wheel on May 3, 2021.

Randy was the type of guy who would do anything for anyone, he would give you the shirt off his back with no hesitation. He didn’t need all the fancy things in life, just his horses and the great outdoors and he was happy. He was an amazing brother and uncle. He was very proud to be an uncle to such great boys and there was never a phone call that ended without him asking how the boys were and what they were up to. He loved with them with all his heart.

We would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and support during this time.

Ride Easy cowboy, your home. You’re with Mom and Dad again. Until we meet again in our hearts is where we will hold you. You will never be forgotten; you are deeply missed.

“If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever”

“Welcome to heaven cowboy, your entry fees are paid.”

The come and go viewing for 10 people at a time, will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
