Obituary of Harley Ray Banting

After a courageous battle with cancer, Harley passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 23, 2021.

He leaves to mourn his loving partner, Michelle Matthews, his parents, Sharon and Tim Banting, grandmothers Glad Penner and Eileen Banting, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers Hardy Penner and Syd Banting, as well as his uncle, Robin Banting.

Harley loved the outdoors; camping, canoeing, snowmobiling and snowboarding. He loved animals and took so much comfort from his three cats, Omen, Haze and Aurora during these past months. He loved everything related to Dungeons and Dragons, especially hosting, and enjoyed playing pretty much any board game. But most of all he loved Michelle, their home, and the life they were dreaming of building together.

Sleep well, Harley, our hearts are broken and we will love you forever.

A private family service will take place shortly. A celebration of Harley’s life will take place at a later date.

If you so desire, donations can be made to the Terry Fox Research Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba in Harley’s honour.
