Obituary of Tina Peters

Peacefully on November 15, 2021, our beautiful Mom, Tina Peters joined Dad in heaven. Mom passed away at Bethesda Place with her family at her side.

Mom was born November 2, 1925, in Silberfeld Village to John and Aganetha Hildebrand. She grew up on the farm with seven brothers and four sisters.

Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Peter Peters, one son in infancy, five brothers, three sisters and numerous in laws.

She is survived by her children Errol, Carol (John and his children and their families), Jeff, Sharon (Dale), Lyle (Carolyn), Judy (Marlowe), Garth, Kevin; and grandchildren Dustin (Alison), Bobbi (Darryl), Jenni (Paul), Elliot, Hannah (Daniel), Matteus, Teg, Izzy, Job, Seth, Jakobi, Jodi, Cody, Korelle; and one great-grandchild, Isla. She is also survived by one sister, two brothers, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Mom’s life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ”. Her faith was quiet and steadfast.

While raising their own family Mom and Dad opened their home to other children in need of care. She continued this after Dad’s passing. For many years Mom volunteered at the Rest Haven nursing home. This suited her servant heart.

Her home was open to anyone and everyone, as her children and grandchildren and their friends can attest to. We often called her home Grand Central Station.

Mom’s interests included crossword puzzles, reading, puzzling, gardening and crafting. She had a quirky sense of humor. She loved life and knew how to keep things in perspective, never fretting the small stuff. Although she never brought herself to the forefront, she was a remarkable woman who managed a home of eight children with grace and humility. We will miss you dearly Mom.

The most extraordinary thing in the world is an ordinary man and an ordinary woman and their ordinary children.               - G K Chesterton
