Obituary of Johan Quiring

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Quiring. John passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the age of 71.

He is survived by his three children and five grandchildren, Daughter Tammy (Ian Plett), granddaughters Brittany (Jason Andres) Alissa Plett, grandson Andrew Plett. Son James (Brenda Bouchard) granddaughter Michelle Reimer, daughter Jennifer (Kyle Falk), and granddaughter Autumn.

He is also survived by six sisters (Mary, Ann, Helen, Susan, Kathy, Lisa) and two brothers (Neil, Peter) and (sisters and brothers-in-law).

He was predeceased by his mother and father Cornelius and Maria Quiring and his son William Curtis Quiring.

John was born July 25, 1950, in Chihuahua Mexico. Some of John’s interests included fishing and puzzling. John was a professional truck driver. He was very hard working and was respected by his co workers and Employers. If you ever had a chance to sit and speak with John, you would have had the opportunity to hear about his many stories while driving truck. Some great stories, some scary stories but never a shortage of stories. He was great at sharing conversation with others.

John moved back and forth between Ontario and Manitoba, finally settling down in Manitoba about 10 years ago. In his time in Steinbach John made himself at home, making new friends and reconnecting with family. He will be missed as he became part of his sister Helen’s neighborhood. He was well known as “Brother John” by everyone. He was always cheerful and helpful. He was always willing to lend a hand to neighbors helping with various projects. He has built fences and gates and helped with yard work and gardening, minor vehicle issues and more. He was always eager to help, and his conversation and help were always appreciated, his time enjoyed by all. He was grateful to have been able to re connect with his son James (Brenda) who welcomed him into their home. This gave him the opportunity to reconnect with his daughter Jennifer (Kyle) and his granddaughter Autumn. He truly cherished this time with his children and was very proud of his granddaughter. He loved to share stories of the new time spent with his children and granddaughter. With his brother Neil by his side, he accepted the Lord into his life July 17, 1988. As John leaves us, we know he will be looked after by the Lord. John touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.

A private family service is being planned.
