Elaine Joyce Koop, of Steinbach, formerly of Mitchell, passed away at the Rest Haven Home on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the age of 46. She was born in Steinbach on February 11, 1966. Elaine graduated from University of Winnipeg and received a Bachelor of Education degree in 1988 and a Diploma in Teaching the Hearing Impaired from University of British Columbia in 1990. She is survived by her children Michelle and Tyler, her sister and her family, and her parents Werner and Elda Rempel. A memorial service for Elaine Koop will be held Friday, July 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Steinbach Mennonite Brethren Church, 340 2nd St, with a private burial at Heritage Cemetery prior to the service. Viewing will be at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Thursday, July 12 from 7 to 8:00 p.m.
