I have so many fond memories of my Aunty Tilly.....
Walking through her vegetable garden in Sarto while she pulled fresh carrots and peas for lunch. Sitting in her living room watching all of those hummingbirds at her many feeders in her sunny windows at the Sarto farm. She was always busy in the kitchen and ready to prepare a huge meal on the spot when we stopped in for a visit. Hardworking, strong lady who was so good to all of us. We will miss you Aunty Tilly.

The best memories? From Sarto to Steinbach and when you came to Ontario. The times we stopped for a quick visit which turned into a full meal with perogies, borscht, from a freezer full of love and your famous pickles. An instant coffee or a Pepsi even a shot. Against so many odds you came through with "dangerously high" cholesterol and a wit. You, like Baba are etched in my brain as the beautiful, strong and brave women in my life, proud of your heritage. If I can bottle up a portion of your humility, I will be happy.

To my beautiful Aunty Tillie ❤
You were an absolutely strong and loving woman. You always had a smile on your face, loved to joke around and your cooking was phenominal. I remember many visits to your place in Sarto, walking across from Mom and Dad's across the well travelled path through the field, to come for a glass of pepsi, color in the coloring books, sleep overs, Ukrainian music, painting the old chicken coop, and so many other memories. Oh.... one not to forget, was how handy you were with the spade shovel, when a garter snake went slithering across the driveway haha!!
You always had such kind words, and were very positive and encouraging.
Your garden was always so well planted, rows ever so straight and weed free. Your canning and preserves, were always so well cut up, and presented at many meals we shared at yours and Uncle Paul's house.
You were very good to all of us kids.
When I had my own kids, you and Uncle Paul, treated them as your own grandchildren. They have good memories as well.
My last phone call with you, was about a month ago. Our last conversation was brief, but as always, ended with, " I love you's"
You had a good life, and some very trying times. You will always be remembered by me, as being a very strong and determined lady.
Rest now, and I know you are happy to have been reunited with your family and dear friends
Until we meet again
Love Les, Sherry Ferris (Rekrut)

Our condolences to Tillie's family. We bought their property in 2006 and became friends with Tillie. She was always quick to serve coffee & cookies. Tillie was a positive person and nice to visit. I called her today and her phone was out of business and when I went online tonight I saw her photo in the Birchwood funeral obituaries. Love & Prayers, Helen & John Schellenberg
