Katherine Heier was born to Abram and Anna Klassen on September 22, 1942 in Kronstahl, Ukraine. She was the third of four children. Her family moved to Chaco, Paraguay in 1947 and about seven years later moved to Southern Ontario. Katherine received Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized as a teenager. Throughout her life she sought to serve Jesus and live for Him. She continued her education in Winnipeg where she began her teaching career which she loved. It was there that she met and married Arthur Heier in July 1979. They had two children, Jonathan in November 1983 and Krista in June 1986. Krista married Morgan Serger in June 2005. Katherine went home to be with her Maker early in the morning on August 8, 2012. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, children, extended family and friends. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mennonite Brethren Church, 340 2nd St, Steinbach with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Heritage Cemetery.
