Obituary of Dale Brian Blanchfield

It is with utmost sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend, Dale Brian Blanchfield.

He is survived by his mom Shirley, sisters Sandy (Tony) and Tanis (Rick), nephews and nieces (Brandon, Braydon, Kiara, and Arianna) as well as his aunts & uncles (Pat, Pete, Linda, Carl, Dennis & Terry), cousins and so many people that he was proud to call his friends.

Dale was predeceased by his dad (Brian), cousin (Stacey), Uncle (Larry) and his grandparents.

Dale’s journey of life gave him many experiences where he met countless friends along the way. From working various jobs including Whiteshell Parks, Winnipeg Airport, City of Winnipeg seasonal laborer and then onto the North End Water Pollution Control Center on Main Street where he was a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Level 2. In between he attained his diploma in Environmental Sciences at Lethbridge Community College and eventually onto Environmental Engineering at Red River College in Winnipeg.

Dale will be remembered and celebrated as an adventurer, a debater, and a serial learner. He was the family go-to for all things techy and he always seemed to enjoy the challenge of conquering something new. With the help of DIY books and the internet, he became a household handyman, mechanic, and autobody man too.

Dale was a family man, first to be out with his nieces at the lake, building sand castles, jumping off the dock, tubing and whatever else there was to do to have fun. He enjoyed countless sessions of online video gaming with his nephews, and was first to plan on hitting the slopes for some snowboarding or going on a hike in the coulees. Dale enjoyed several adventures, adult beverages, games, and lots and lots of laughs with his cousin Crystal. He loved them all deeply.

Dale was a unique, wonderful, caring, and funny man. He had a heart of gold and has given all of those that had the great pleasure of knowing him these short 40 years, with memories and experiences that they will cherish forever.

Be free now Dale, you have your angel wings. Please give a hug to Dad, Stacey, Boss, Grandma, Grandpa, Baba and Gege. Until we meet again!

Our family would like to thank everyone for the love and support during this difficult time.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. To join the family via livestream please click HERE shortly before the time of the service.
