Obituary of Maria Friesen

Peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023, Maria Friesen passed away at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB, at the age of 84 years.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Bernhard (Ben), one daughter, four sons, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law.

She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

Maria married her husband Bernhard on January 5, 1963, and they later stepped into the role of foster parents. Mom was a loving lady with a strict hand for obedience LOL, AKA Tupperware belt, or anything close by.

Maria had many talents. She was a health care aide, an awesome baker of buns and soup maker. She was also a professional bingo player, loved collecting spoons, and enjoyed gardening.
