Obituary of Jacques Pelchat

Sadly, Jacques Pelchat left us suddenly on Sunday, February 12, 2023, while vacationing in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He is survived by his common-law wife Lynn of 32 years and son Jonathan, his brothers Jean-Marie (Denise) and Paul (Carmen) and sister Noella (Patrice), all from Quebec. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Cecile, sister-in-law Georgette, and brothers-in-law Denis and Roger (Jaime), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Marcel and Angele Bergeron, brother Guy, son Alexander, and father-in-law Albert Paquette.

Jacques was born in Arthabaska, Quebec, and grew up in Victoriaville, Quebec. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces at an early age of 20 years old as a vehicle technician. He was posted to Canadian Forces Base Valcartier, Quebec; Lahr, Germany, for four years; then to 17 Service Battalion where he met Lynn; then off to 202 Workshop Depot. His last posting was to Saskatchewan Militia District. He retired from the forces in 1998 at the rank of Warrant Officer. He then went back to school and became a computer technician.

The family then moved to Elie, MB, to be closer to Lynn’s family. While in Manitoba, Jacques went back to work as a vehicle technician on large vehicles. He then worked with the Commissionaires until his retirement in November 2022.

During his spare time he liked cutting grass for the neighbor with the riding lawnmower and working on ATVs and vehicles.

The family would like to say thank you to the services and amazing staff at Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will take place in late spring or early summer.
