This photo is from a trip taken to see Curt back in 2017 and reflects a few of the old bandmates back together…drums, bass/vocals, and lead guitar (from left to right). That weekend, we threw caution to the wind and acted like 19-year-olds…telling jokes, laughing our faces off, being taken aback by Curt’s off-beat hilarity, cruising hard with the rental car – windows down and our favourite tunes blaring, gorging ourselves on all you-can eat buffets and fast food, and reminiscing with great inaccuracy on past achievements like the middle-aged men we actually were at the time.
With each fading year in the time spent together - the mischievous sparkle in his eyes never left - and neither did his proclivity towards throwing off one’s perception of reality with his special brand of humour. Curt’s memory will live on in my mind and heart through the music he wrote and recorded, the Curt-isms he crafted, the many unique experiences shared playing music and hanging out, the lingering distress from his many pranks, and the supportive friendship he offered.
See you on the other side Curt…get the jam room set up…I’ll be by soon enough with my sticks.
We will rock again.
