To Mona, and all of Doris’s family - I would like to offer my sincerest condolences on the passing of your mother.
Doris was a friend of my mother, Rolande St-Laurent, they met at the Villa Youville when their husbands were residents there. We also got the pleasure to meet Doris and we would often chat when we visited the Villa. She was such a kind and soft spoken lady. A group of ladies (which Doris and our mom were part of) would regularly meet to celebrate their birthdays, and also as a time of friendship and support for each other. Our mom would often speak of those gatherings and of Doris, and the first thing I would immediately visualize is that huge smile which Doris always had. It was so bright and beautiful.
In 2014, Doris and Mona visited our mom when she was critically ill, and they returned again as our mom recovered. The time they took to visit really warmed our heart and meant a lot to us. While we may not have known Doris that well, we still wanted you to know the impact Doris made as a friend, and also how appreciative we were in her and Mona’s support which they offered us. Our mom passed in 2021, therefore we know of this difficult time you are going through, and we are so sorry for your loss.
May Doris rest in peace, and may she and our mom Rolande, find each other again where they can continue to celebrate their heavenly birthdays together.
