Obituary of Arthur Martens

On the evening of Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the age of 78, Arthur Martens embarked on his best and forever trip to heaven, to be with Jesus.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Sarah, daughter Kathleen (Ken), and granddaughters Rachel and Elise. He is also survived by: brothers Henry (Dorothy), and John (Yvonne); sister Helen, sister-in-law Marlene as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Abram & Katharina Martens; five brothers and six sisters.

His varied hobbies revolved around his appreciation of nature including photography, travelling, and gardening. Many hours were spent with friends over coffee or around a campfire. Over the last 40 years, he was an integral part of the volunteer team at Calvary Temple—from CT Camp maintenance to 55Plus.
