It was Jason's wedding day. I had recently notified the family that I was leaving their brother, the marriage was over. Jason's three brothers had already married, I had happily attended each one, and I really didn't want to miss this one, so I decided I would slip in for the ceremony only, then leave. I was sitting in the back row, when the wedding party appeared at the back door near me. Jason saw me, came over, crouched down beside me, and among other things, he told me 'You will always be my auntie!' It is a memory that I cherish. The world was a better place with him in it.

Jason has always been a leader❣️ This is his Kindergarten class picture. He is seated proudly in the middle of the front row. His parents told me about his choice to become a law enforcement officer in City of Winnipeg Police Force during a brief crossing of paths. My sincere condolences to his parents, siblings and extended family. A heartfelt virtual hug to his wife, daughter and son as you mourn and remember the love he gave you every day of his lifetime with you.
The law enforcement family has lost a dedicated man who served them and the public at large with care and compassion. Rest In Peace in God’s arms Jason. Love and prayers, Miss Neufeld aka Mrs. Marilyn Wiebe ( along with Ann Friesen and K classmates, Elmwood Elementary School )

My first paid job was babysitting my cousin Jason, and then his brothers as they came along. He was lively, the leader of the games, and always wore a cap- and I see that didn't change. With our families farming together, our lives were intertwined and it was a joy to watch Jason achieve milestones and pursue the things he loved. I am still verklempt at his passing.
"On the day that I die and am carried toward the grave, don't weep.
Don't say, 'He's gone! He's gone. Death has nothing to do with going away.
The sun sets and the moon sets, but they're not gone.
[...]
My mouth closes here, and immediately opens with a shout of joy there."

With deepest condolences and great love to all the family,
