Obituary of Peter Donald Kraynyk
Peter was born on May 27, 1963, in Steinbach, Manitoba; the youngest of four children of Mike and Anne Kraynyk.
He is survived by his brother Michael (Fay); their children Leah (Colin) and Kayla (Mike) and his sister Christine (Edward).
He was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Anne and his sister Rosalie.
He was raised on the family farm and attended Shevchenko School in Vita. Following graduation, he followed his scholastic passion; earning a degree in Animal Sciences from the Department of Agriculture at University of Manitoba. He made the Dean’s honor list and achieved multiple scholarships and awards. He continued his education, upgrading and honing his professional skills throughout his 34-year career.
Green Valley Feeds was his starting point and he stayed through the many changes to what is now Master Feeds.
While maintaining a fulltime career, Peter farmed his land and was an active member in his community. He was a lifelong member of the St. Demetris Ukrainian Catholic Church and served on the board. He served as president of the Vita North Cemetery and volunteered countless hours to these and many other organizations.
Peter had a wealth of knowledge and his personality enabled him to carry on any conversation easily. He had a great mind for numbers and kept meticulous stats. His hockey pool is a great example. The Montreal Canadian’s have lost their greatest fan.
Peter supported a variety of charities and if friends so desire they may make a donation in Peter’s memory to the Vita North Cemetery, c/o Box 51, Vita, Manitoba, or a charity of ones choice.
The funeral service will be held Monday, June 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with interment to follow reception.
