Obituary of Peter Guenther

Peter B. Guenther, age 94, passed away peacefully at Rest Haven Care Home, Steinbach, MB, on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lottie Unger, his daughters and their families: Pamela & Roy Kehler – Jacqueline & Phil, Jordan with Quinn and Scarlett; Lori & Wilf Peters – Brock & Rachel, Olivia & Dan, and Cole.

Peter was a top salesman for Penner Dodge Chrysler and later a co-owner and salesman at Southeastern Farm Equipment.

Throughout his life Dad enjoyed many sports; playing hockey for the Huskies and golf being two of his favourites. Not many people can claim to having made three holes in one!

Dad had a love for children, teaching Sunday School for 2-4 year olds for more than 20 years.

Dad loved music. Sunday afternoons were spent listening to the classics. He also sang in many choirs with his beautiful tenor voice.

Dad leaves a legacy of strong values for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a humble, hard-working, generous man with a deep and abiding faith in God. He appreciated the many blessings in his life and loved to give of his time and money to family and many charities.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
