Obituary of Raphael Audette

Raphael Marcel Joseph Audette, in the loving arms of his eldest son, took his last breath in the light of dusk on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

This legendary man will be missed by his children JR (Patty), André-Michel (Reena) and Danielle (Blake). His tenderness and humour will be cherished by his grandchildren Tristen, Brett, Ava, Mia, Monroe, Vivienne, August, and Faye. He leaves behind his beloved father Marcel (Yvette) and siblings Brenda, Raymond (Darlene), Reynald (too many hotties to list), numerous nieces and nephews, and stepsiblings; Lise (Paul) and Denis (Kelly).

Ralph was predeceased by his dear mother Yvonne, cutie brother Randy and sparkling little sister Donna (Roger).

Ralph was born on April 5, 1959, in La Coulée, MB. He was the oldest of six children who enjoyed adventures between Lake Riviera and St-Pierre Jolys. He met the mother of his children, Mariette in 1977 and settled in La Broquerie. His heart was full of love, his ears were always ready to listen, and his hands were ready to help anyone in need – always. His strength to support others while struggling himself, especially when he was sick, showed us he was the strongest. His love was unconditional. Ralph was a hard-working man who enjoyed his Timmies with his loyal fur baby, Sadie by his side. In the footsteps of his voyageur ancestors, Ralph travelled millions of kilometers delivering goods across North America. He was a gifted storyteller and photographer. Racing tornadoes in the prairies to feeding ravens in Yukon was just another trip for Ralph. Once home, at the log cabin in Richer, his priority was checking in on everyone and resting by a fire with some Winnipeg Old Country Meats.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, MB. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Paquin, her staff at the Seine Medical Centre, all our medical specialists and the home care team, especially Richard, Colette, Mona, and Lesley. Your compassion and kindness towards our family will be treasured by us. Brenda, Reynald, Raymond and Darlene; your time with Ralph while Grandpa was recovering at home was medicine for us all. We are grateful to relatives and friends whose visits, love and caring helped to make Ralph’s last trip a peaceful one.
