John A. Janzen was born on Nov. 14 1924 in Friedensfeld, Russia and passed away on Aug. 22, 2012 at the St. Boniface Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife Betty (nee Hildebrand) of 61 years of marriage, one daughter Elsie and her family: Carlos and Monika Janz (their three daughters, Valeria, Lorerei and Gabriela), Hannelore and David Holden (their two daughters Emily and Claire), Heidi and Chris Coleman (their son Sean), David Janz Jr.; one son Johnny and his wife Yolanda and his family: John Steven Janzen; and his sister-in-law Margaret Janzen. He was predeceased by his parents Aron and Sara Janzen, brother Aron Janzen, sister Sara and her husband John Rosenfeld and son-in-law David Janz. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Saturday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, 422 Main St, Steinbach with interment at the Hespeler Cemetery in Niverville.
