Obituary of Luc Joseph Edmond Tessier

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of Luc Tessier on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 64 years of age at the De Salaberry District Health Center in St. Pierre Jolys, MB.

Luc was born on August 29, 1958, in St. Pierre Jolys, MB. Luc had a knack for telling jokes as he loved to make people laugh, he could go on and on even if we were bent over laughing and couldn't take much more. He had a smile that could light up a room. His presence gave you a sense of happiness and made you feel at ease. He never shied away from showing his family, friends, and those he cared for the love he shared for them. He gave the tightest and most meaningful hugs. His heart was whole when he was with his family. Luc knew how precious and valuable life was and it was important to him to spend as much time as possible with his loved ones. He would visit his siblings every day, sometimes even twice a day. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. Luc always put his family first, there was nothing he wouldn't do for his wife, his children, or his grandchildren.

Luc enjoyed quadding, camping, hunting, and going on trips with his family and friends. His kids may not have had all the bells and whistles growing up, but he always made sure they felt loved and that they spent quality family time together. Luc and Mariette purchased property in Roseau River and worked tirelessly pouring their blood, sweat, and tears to make it their home away from home. It was their little slice of paradise and they looked forward to making lasting memories with their loved ones. In his free time, as a hobby, Luc had also started to build personalized furniture for his family so they could have memories that would last for generations to come. Although he didn't always give himself enough credit, especially after his life changing accident in 2019, Luc was a man of many talents and skills. He was a jack of all trades and anything Luc didn't know, he used his two hands and his common sense to figure it out.

Luc spent 10 years of his adult life volunteering as a proud member of the St. Pierre Fire Department. He was a kind hearted man who was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He gave love to all those around him before giving himself the love and care he needed.

Suffering a traumatic brain injury had changed our father, we grieved losing the father we once had, but at the same time we were thankful and forever blessed that our father had survived such a traumatic accident and was still around for us to love and spend time with. Even though Luc had his whole family by his side, a piece of the puzzle seemed to be missing. When the grandchildren came into this world, it was like it brought him back to life. They brought him so much joy and happiness, which is apparent in all of the pictures that we will get to cherish forever. Having grandchildren also brought back his passion for hunting, which he used to do with his sons, brothers, and friends. Luc looked forward to that past time, to making new memories, and carrying on the tradition with his grandchildren one day. He was taken far too soon as he still had so much life to live. With great sorrow, he has left us before participating in all of his beloved children's weddings and getting to meet his future grandchildren. He won't be there to see his grandchildren grow up to accomplish all the important milestones in their lives. We are certain that Luc will be watching over all of us from above. He will guide his wife, children, and grandchildren through life. May you fly high with the angels. Your legacy will live on through us forever. We love you so much, may you rest in paradise.

This hard-working and loving man will be dearly missed by his wife (Mariette), his four children Nadine, Janelle (Ash), Colin (Sarah), and Darrel, his grandchildren Raelynn, Lenyx, Fletcher, and one on the way, as well as by his granddogs Gunner and Navi that were loved just as much. He also leaves behind his siblings Jacques (Denise), Suzanne (René), Norbert (Rachelle), Carmel (Claude), Madeline (Paul), Julien (Marie), Roger (Lynne), Gizèle (Michael), his father and mother-in-law Rosaire and Alice Roy, his brothers/sisters-in-law Denis (Joy), Nicole, Claire (Daniel), Suzanne (Gilles), Ron, Joanne, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Luc was predeceased by his parents Marcel and Éveline Tessier and one grandchild whose wings were ready before entering this world.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
