Obituary of Rose Marie Daku

It is with great sadness and overwhelming tears that we announce the passing of our mom, Rose Marie Daku, at the age of 87, on Saturday, July 29, 2023.

She was predeceased by her husband and our father Bill Daku.

She was a mom to four of us, a stepmother, grandmother, aunt to many nieces & nephews, a sister to 10 siblings, and friend to so, so many.

Left to tearfully mourn her are her daughter Jan Witwicki, (son-in-law Bob Martell) sons John Witwicki, Shawn Daku, (daughter-in-law, Sandy Daku) Dwayne Daku Alia’s “Decker”, stepson Dale Daku, grandchildren, Riley Daku, Courtney Daku, Chelsea and Stephanie Daku, and Shane Witwicki, along with two surviving sisters Frances Cass & Betty Pallister.

Rose was the kindest, most giving and accepting person to everyone who knew her. She was “mom” to many, not just her immediate family.

She grew up in Beausejour, Manitoba, her parents immigrated from Poland.

She was the most generous, caring and understanding lady one could know. Her loyalty, honesty and ability to reason was beyond admirable. An absolute pillar of strength.

She was accepting to all that entered her world, never judgmental, always caring and concerned for the well-being of others first, and would give you her last $5.00 if you were in need. Our Mom had more amazing qualities than one can list. She is one to be admired & honoured!

She is and always will be the brightest star in the sky ❤
We miss and love you so much mom.

She will be missed, loved and remembered by all, for all time! This is the most difficult time, and we are full of sorrow and heartache with the enormous loss of our mom, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no service, but a celebration of her life at some point a little further down the road to honour & celebrate this amazing lady.
