Obituary of John Braun

Johan W. Braun, age 58, of Steinbach, MB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at his residence.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lisa Braun, his mother Maria Braun, three sisters and four brothers. He is also survived by his honorary daughter Sylas and her children.

He was predeceased by his father, Heinrich Braun.

John was born to Heinrich and Maria on February 10, 1965. He was baptized at the age of 17 and was an active member of the CMC Church.

John was married to Lisa on April 6, 1991. During that year he began working at the Carlton Hatchery, then at Bothwell Cheese the next 10 years. John’s hobbies included gardening, lawncare and fixing cars. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle and friend and enjoyed spending time with people.

The viewing will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. 

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to Birchwood Funeral Chapel to assist the family with funeral expenses.
