Obituary of Elizabeth Loeppky

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

On the morning of Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Elizabeth Loeppky passed away peacefully with her three daughters by her side at Rest Haven Care Home in Steinbach, MB.

Elizabeth was born to Peter and Helena Toews on March 13, 1940. 

Mom will lovingly be remembered by her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by:

Lorraine Edwards (Charlie), Charles (Tiffany) (McKinley, Bennett, Kendall), Jayme (Marc);

Carol Beauchemin (Gerald), Brett, (Mattison), Troy, Jeffrey (Coral), Jennifer (Will) (Carson, David);

Sandra Redekop (Doug), Matthew (Amelia);

Daughter-in-law Ruth Loeppky (Fern) Marie (Michael), Amelia, Jane (Nic), Craig, Kate (Albert);

Sisters Nettie Klippenstein (Peter), Mary Friesen.

Mom was predeceased by her son Lorne, her parents Peter and Helena Toews and siblings John, Helen, Anne and Sarah.

Mom grew up on farm near New Bothwell. She married Cornelius Loeppky on June 28, 1959. They had four children and farmed in the Tourond area with his brothers John and Abe.

Mom spent many years working on the farm and raising her family. Many years later she started her own cleaning business. She retired to Steinbach in 2000 and spent her last years living at Bridge Park Manor where she formed many great friendships.
