Obituary of Margaret Klassen

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bergthaler Church, Grunthal, MB., with viewing one hour prior to the service.

The interment will take place following the service at the Grunthal Cemetery, with the reception to follow at the church.

Margaret Klassen, aged 82, of Grunthal, MB., passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the Menno Home for the Aged, Grunthal, MB.

Margaret was born in Chihuahua Province, Mexico, to John and Margaret Reimer on July 29, 1941. Margaret moved to Manitoba with her parents April 24, 1952 when she was 11.

Margaret had attended school till grade 8 we believe. On October 18, 1964 Margaret married John Klassen and lived in Grunthal, MB., till 1972. From there they moved to Matheson Island, MB from 1972 – 1976. After here they moved to Winnipeg, MB., from 1976 – 1987 when they moved back home to Grunthal, MB. In 2016, Mom had moved into the Grunthal Menno Home.

Margaret had five children and she was able to be what she loved most a stay at home mom and supportive wife. Margaret also had jobs outside of the house when needed which included working in the Beet fields, Sewing Factories, Cannery, Restaurants, Private House cleaning and Native Ministry's.

When the children were grown and no longer needed a mom Margaret opened their home to vulnerable adults and was their support provider when they moved back to Grunthal till retiring. Margaret always had to have a purpose so when she retired she started volunteering at a Grunthal Thrift Store. Also Margaret has always been involved with her church.
