I had the pleasure of meeting Bettie while working at the hospital. She would brighten my day when she would come to visit her husband. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know this wonderful lady and her family.

I was Betties Foot Care Nurse for about a year and then I was Andy's for awhile also. I looked forward to seeing Bettie ( and Andy) and hearing her stories about Andy and herself , their tribulations and her joy. I never grew tired of hearing her stores and sometimes they were the same but they always made me laugh. I think her story about the shoes was my favorite. Never did I tell Bettie that I heard it before. Bettie always had a sparkle in her eyes and she brightened my day.
Betties love for Andy and her family were apparent in every visit I had with her. A great lady has passed and I send my condolences to all of her family. may you all find comfort knowing she is with God.

I look at this lovely picture of Auntie Bettie and I am filled with so many memories, over so many years that it is impossible to pick the best ones and articulate them. My first home after graduating was at Bettie and Andy's, my wedding dress was made by her, She lent me a green sweater for a first date, Above all, I have a memory of the warmth, and the love, and the laughter that surrounded her and how special I felt when I was young (and not so young) in her presence. My heart goes out to you all but what memories you must have if mine are so good!
My deepest condolences to Uncle Andy, Cynthia, Valerie, Shelley, Patrick and your families.

I was totally shocked when I was told that Bettie had passed away. My memories of Bettie days back to when I was a very young child. As a teenager, I worked with her sister and mom at The Pines and she was a frequent visitor. As a young, single adult, she and Andy went away for a week and I lived at their house (in Wpg) and took care of the kids and the house for a week, going to work after the kids left for school. When I was getting married in 1974, Bettie and Andy hosted a Jack and Jill shower for my fiance and I. I never felt like a visitor but rather, a member of the family.
Bettie, you will always have a special place in my memories and in my heart. RIP. You've earned it.

Bettie you were always a hard working, beautiful and amazing woman. Growing up I was always in awe of you. The thing I remember most is your laughter! You were a “larger than life” presence in our lives and I admired you very much. You will be missed by all who knew you and all who loved you. My deepest condolences to Andy and the family. You will live on in our hearts. R.I.P.

So many fantastic memories. Her big laugh, her stern voice( when we were in trouble), her stories. A series of clips playing over and over in my head of all the times we spent together. It is said people never forget how you made them feel.. She saw, she heard and she accepted. May all our collective memories keep her spirit alive. Love to you all
