Anne Friesen of Sandilands, MB, age 76, passed away at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on Friday, August 31, 2012. Born in Sandy Rapids, Alberta, she grew up on a homestead in Rackham, MB, and lived also in Ontario before settling down in Manitoba, first in Winnipeg and then in Sandilands. She was predeceased by her parents John Fedorus and Sophie Hnatiuk, brother Edward Fedorus (Norah), sons Morgan and Ken Podolaniuk, daughter Mona Podolaniuk, and by husbands John Podolaniuk and Albert Friesen. She is survived by sisters Olga Lavoie (Edgar), Alice Hackywicz (Bill), brothers Andrew Fedorus (Renée) and Willie Fedorus (Ida), sons Tim (Lisa) and Ed Podolaniuk, and daughters Monica and Susan Jacklyn, and Cindy Friesen, and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. The funeral service is scheduled for Birchwood Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive in Steinbach on Tuesday, September 4, 10:00 a.m. followed by interment in Sandilands Cemetery.
