I was one of those 1000 students he taught. My greatest memory of Mr Kehler was in grade 10 SRSS on the first day of class. Mr Kehler was expressing his expectations of the dos and don’ts. It’s the don’t’s in particular that I recall most as he quoted a saying that I’ve never forgotten, “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.” It’s a wise saying. I appreciated him, and I liked his class.
To the Kehler family, am so sorry for your loss, but happy he is with Jesus now. May The Lord bless you and keep you in his perfect peace and comfort as He draws you close to His heart.

i was a graduate of SRSS 1976. Hardy was my math/science teacher. He was a great teacher and person. I greatly respected him and his sense of humor was the essence of the man. My deepest sympathies to the Kehler family.

Hardy was a wonderful man to care for,he always amazed me with his tenacity and strength and humour…he loved to “teach” on his own when residents had gone to bed…I enjoyed looking at books with him and learning about his life..
He will be missed but always remembered by me ..RIP Hardy, your job is done ..

My condolences to all of you. Unfortunately I’ll be out of town visiting my brother John but I’ll be there in spirit. I always remember Uncle Hardy as this big force of nature. He was a strong man and you definitely knew when he was in the room. He had a big laugh that you knew was genuine. I know he will be greatly missed but I know you have wonderful memories to treasure.

When I got to high school, way back in 1977, I was told by many other students to make sure I took as many classes with Hardy Kehler as I could. There was only one class I could take with him, and I loved it. I loved his positive energy, his obvious enthusiasm for life, and the dry "dad" jokes he told. Whenever I think back to my high school days, my memories of Hardy always put a smile on my face and warm my heart. Condolences to the Kehler family on Hardy's death.
