Obituary of Peter Blatz

Our family is deeply saddened to share the passing of our father, Peter T. Blatz, on Monday, February 12, 2024, a day shy of his 90th birthday. While we have lost “one of the good ones”, we are comforted that he is reunited with his beloved wife of 63 years, Anne.

Born February 13, 1934, Peter married the love of his life Anne (Schellenberg) in 1957 and they spent the early part of their marriage on the road, travelling throughout the prairies constructing fuel stations before settling on the family farm which he would farm for the balance of his life.

Dad was predeceased by our mother Anne (Schellenberg) and leaves behind four loving sons; Gord (Mary), Cliff, Keith (Chantel) and Dave (Amy), and his six grandchildren, Eli (Steph), Emma, Peter, Campbell, Bodhi, Ellison and a great-grandchild Lainey.

Peter will be fondly remembered as a loving and generous father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and a good friend to many.

The viewing service will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
