Obituary of Linda Ruth Dueck

Linda Dueck (Written by Linda Dueck) I have had a wonderful life. What good you have seen in me please accredit to God and what has not been so good, well, that was just good old ordinary, human Linda. I was born to Cornie and Betty Stoesz on March 28, 1961 in Winnipeg, MB. I was the first born of a set of twins and the 4th child. I believe I owe my life to my sister, Bettie, who apparently prayed fervently and bugged my parents, relentlessly for a baby sister. I am survived by my husband Gordon Dueck of almost 30 years and our children Lindsey (Jon) Enns, Keith, and Craig. I will also be remembered by my dad Cornie Stoesz, brothers Neil, Dennis, Gerald (and significant friend Carol Beauchemin) and my sister Bettie (Harv Penner); as well as my mother-in-law Erna Dueck, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends. I was predeceased by my mom Bettie Stoesz this past summer. Life with cancer in 2009, brought a whole new dimension to living. It would be true to say that, “It was the best of times, and it was the worst of times”. We were extremely blessed to have God’s peace and presence throughout the ordeal. We watched and expected God to work out His purposes as we did our best to walk the course. Preparing for death has been a gift and has allowed me to depart without regrets or hindrances. The Bucket List changes when your life is in jeopardy. Not so much doing, but rather being. Really being with the people you love. Spending time and enjoying enriched relationships was what’s important. Places left unseen, adventures yet undone, that was ok. We have been blessed with an awesome family and many wonderful friends. Each of you seemed to know just what to do to help lighten our load with special acts of kindness. The copious amount of prayer that has been said on our behalf has been amazing. Thank-you also to the wonderful doctors and nurses at CancerCare Steinbach and CancerCare Manitoba. Thank-you all. If I had to give only one piece of wisdom for life it would be that God loves you and wants a personal relationship with you. Let it be your life mission to explore what that means for you. It feels like days I had were not enough when I had to say good-bye…………. Ephesians 3:15-19 “With both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.” The funeral service will be held on Thursday February 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Southland Community Church, Hwy 52 W, Steinbach with viewing in the church chapel on Wednesday February 2, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Linda will be laid to rest at Heritage Cemetery in Steinbach. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Linda may be made to Four Winds Project, a ministry of Southland Community Church, Box 219, Steinbach, Manitoba R5G 1M2
