Obituary of Terence James Duddridge

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving father, Terence James Duddridge. Dad was born October 1, 1936, in Taunton Somerset, England, he passed away August 24, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.

Dad was predeceased by his first wife of 57 years, Mona Duddridge (O’Connor) in 2016.

Dad is survived by his dear wife Denise Rivard, his children Anthony (Sandy), Kevin (Ruth), Paul (Rhonda), Claire (Henry), Brendan (Linda), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren including another on the way.

Also mourning Dad’s passing are his three stepdaughters, Gina Bernardin (Benoit ), Renee Bernardin-Kern (Det ), and Angele Bernardin (Rudy) along with his two brothers in England, Martin and Roger (Hilary),  the O’Connor families; Arthur, Paul, Brendan (Catherine), Barry (Dorothy) and Therese.

Dad served in the British Army stationed in Bagdad and Cyprus for two years. In 1959, Dad and Mom were married and immediately started their family. 1967 saw a move with five children, emigrating to Winnipeg Canada. At this time Dad began his career with MTS. Dad’s job eventually took him to Ottawa, New Zealand, and 12 years in Saudi Arabia. Retirement saw them enjoying four years in Spain before returning to Canada.

Dad and Mom were very fortunate to have had many exotic travel expeditions throughout their life together.

A few years after Mom’s passing Dad was fortunate to have found Denise Rivard to love and enjoy life with. It was wonderful to see Dad happy again. Dad and Denise were married in 2021. The short time they had together was a blessing to them both. Our families blended very well. Denise, thank you for the happiness you brought to Dad.

As per Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

The memorial service will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 am at Christ Our Saviour Parish, 365 Loewen Blvd. Steinbach MB.

A luncheon will be served after the service, which will be followed by an interment at the Heritage Cemetery.
