Obituary of Alice Heinrichs

Alice Heinrichs of Steinbach passed away at the Bethesda Hospital on Friday, November 23, 2007 at the age of 80 years. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Alice Heinrichs, of Steinbach, age 80 on November 23, 2007. Mom and Dad’s marriage was blessed by 3 daughters and one son. Alice leaves behind her beloved husband Toby of 58 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Shirley (Ray) Fast, grandsons Gregory, great grandson Robbie, and Jarett (Janell), daughter Carol (Gabor) Bodor, grandchildren Tara and Jordan, daughter Marni Pauls, grandchildren Dallas and Lindsay Rae, son Ken (Cheryl) Heinrichs, grandchildren Dustin, Kyle and Kelsey. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter J and Mary Dyck, and sister Betty Giesbrecht. Alice was born in Plum Coulee, Manitoba and spent her childhood in Greenfarm. After graduating with her LPN Nurses Training she went to work in the Altona Hospital. It was during this time that she met and married her husband Toby. They have lived in Steinbach for the past 30 years. Mom had a heart to serve and was active in the church ladies sewing circle and Cradle Roll. She always put others before herself and God used her to touch many lives. She loved being a devoted mother and wife, sewing, baking and especially loved the time she was able to spend in her garden. We praise God for the brief eighty years that we were given with Mom, and we rejoice that she will be enjoying an eternity with her Father in heaven. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, November 27 at 7:00 with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, 422 Main Street, Steinbach on Wednesday, November 28 at 2:00 p.m. with interment at the Heritage Cemetery. If friends so desire donations may be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St; Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3 or to Mennonite Central Committee; 134 Plaza Drive; Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9
