Peacefully on December 10, 2007, at Bethesda Place, Steinbach, MB, our Dad, Arthur Topnik, passed away at the age of 86. He is survived by his daughters: Elaine Fingler, Remona Scarr of BC and Lorelei Topnik (Dave Iwanchysko); grandchildren Pam Fingler (fiancé Trevor Panchuk) of Stony Mountain, Dr. Jeffery Fingler of California, and Steven Scarr of BC; brother Gordon (Ruth) and in-laws Jake Sachvie, Henry Schultz, Elsie Topnik, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Lydia, wife Henrietta in September 2005, sisters Tillie, Rose, Olga, Lillie and brother Jake. Dad was raised in Niverville and in Kleefeld, and moved to Steinbach in 1972. Dad loved to fish and hunt, and did a lot of trapping. He loved his work with the Highways Department, where he retired from. We would love to thank the wonderful staff at Bethesda Place, where he was loved and taken care of as a family member. We would also like to thank Dennis Verrier of Palliative Care for the time he spent with Dad and made him very happy. A viewing will be held at Bethesda Place PCH, 399 Hospital Street, Steinbach, MB on Thursday, December 13 at 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 465 Henry Street, Steinbach with interment at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arthur’s memory may be made to SEHA - Palliative Care Program Box 939, Steinbach, MB R5G 1A3, or to St. Paul Lutheran Church Fund, Box 1618, Steinbach, MB R5G 1N3.
