Jacob Giesbrecht of Grunthal, Manitoba passed away on Sunday December 23, 2007 at the St. Pierre Hospital at the age of 71. He is survived by his children: Esther (Harry) Falk, Tina (Jacob) Bergen both of Paraguay; Neta (Johnny) Rempel and Hannah (Jack) Froese both of Bolivia; Betty (Willie) Bergen of Tourond and Mary (Isaac) Penner of New Bothwell, 14 grandchildren; as well as by 5 sisters, one brother and their families. He was predeceased by his wife Helena (nee Hildebrandt) in 1998. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 27 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Mennonite Church on Friday, December 28 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at the church cemetery. If friends so desire donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
