Obituary of Elisabeth Kroeker

Mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Elisabeth Kroeker, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 7, 2011 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Steinbach, Manitoba at the age of 92. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Jacob L. Kroeker, and two sons, Dennis in 2007 and Peter in infancy. She is survived by eight children, Rosalind (Irvin Dueck), Laura (Al Friesen), daughter-in-law, Janice, Erma, Dave (Agnes), Elda (John Enns), Ray (Louella), Clarice (Roger Plett), Vern (Anne); 27 grandchildren and their families. Mom was born on April 29, 1918 in Hanover Municipality. She married Dad on December 6, 1942. They began farming in Rosenort and moved to Riverton as pioneers in 1952. They moved to Steinbach in 2000. Mom has resided at Rest Haven since 2003. She loved gardening, handcrafts, and especially showing care and concern for her large family, as well as friends and neighbors in very practical ways. Viewing will be at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach on Thursday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, 422 Main St, Steinbach on Friday, February 11 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Heritage Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Haven Group Foundation (for Rest Haven Nursing Home), 177 Woodhaven Ave, Steinbach, MB, R5G 1K7 The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of Rest Haven for the excellent care received by our mother and to the many relatives and friends who faithfully visited her. - The family
