Obituary of Mary Kehler Wall
Mary Kehler Wall, age 83, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Steinbach Bethesda Hospital on February 1, 2008.
Mom was born, the oldest of four daughters to Peter H and Susanna Toews at their home in Halbstadt, Manitoba on January 7th, 1925, She received her education at Shakespeare School and lived in Halbstadt until she married our dad, George J. Kehler in July of 1945. Mom and Dad enjoyed fifty-three wonderful years together, farming for forty years in Shakespeare where they raised their five sons and later moving to Steinbach where they shared ten more years together. Mom enjoyed being outside which included helping on the farm, gardening, and working in her many flower gardens. She also enjoyed baking, playing games and most of all, spending time with family and her many friends. She generously volunteered her time at the MCC Thrift Store and always made time for any friend or family member that needed her help. Mom lost her best friend and husband George on April 26th, 1998. She married Ben Wall on October 28th, 2000 and they enjoyed seven years together in Steinbach.
Predeceased by her parents Peter and Susanna, and her first husband George J. Kehler, Mom will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ben, and her five sons with their wives: Dan (Vy) of Steinbach, Peter (Lenora) of Landmark, Andy (Anita) of Kelowna, BC, Marv (Irene) of Giroux and Gord (Lorna) of Steinbach; ten grandchildren Rod (Sandy), Jay, Amanda (Jason), Bud (Tina), Adam (Rhea), Chyanne (Justin), Miguel (Joleen), Nevada (John), A.J. & Sydney; eight great-grandchildren: Riley, Brayden, Darci, Jesse Griffin, Emilia, Rynn and Trinity.
